Perra
Project Details
Following their mother's deportation, three Ecuadorian American brothers are left to survive on their own. Yaque, the youngest, longs for the love and approval of his older brothers as they struggle to redefine family, masculinity, and protection without their mother. When Yaque encounters a mysterious wild dog, his desire to prove himself draws him deeper into the violent world surrounding his brothers. Blending intimate family drama with elements of magical realism, PERRA explores brotherhood, displacement, masculinity, and the ways children inherit violence.
