Luis
About the Job
18+ to play 13 - 17; Afro Latino. The oldest brother. After their mother's deportation, Luis assumes responsibility for the household and supports his family by selling drugs. He is the only brother who clearly remembers how difficult life was in Guayas, Ecuador. To Luis, survival must come before everything else: if you want something, you have to fight for it. Tough, charismatic, and fiercely protective, Luis is still only a teenager attempting to raise two younger children. His love for his brothers is genuine, but his inability to distinguish between protection, affection, discipline, and tough love ultimately pushes Yaque toward the very life Luis hoped to save him from. The roles handle a prop firearm. The only interaction between performers will be casually passing the prop from one person to another during conversation; there will be no physical fight or combat involving the firearm. AFRO LATINOS OR INDIGENOUS LATINOS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. SUPPORTING.
