Wellness Activities:

    • Monthly wellness tip: intentionally take a moment each day to stop and take in the beauty around you. Stop and listen to birds singing in the morning, or take in that glittering lake near your hometown. Intentionally pausing and taking in beauty fuels us with positive energy.
    • As the industry halts, use this downtime to take stock of all the wonderful things you’ve accomplished as an actor. Make an “Actor’s Gratitude List” and write out all the experiences that have brought you joy.
    • Take yourself through newly-minted Tony-winner Jodie Comer’s self-care checklist!
    • World Emoji Day is this month, and while that may not be something you’d think to see under a wellness section, it reminds us of the importance of being able to identify one’s emotions. Try out exercises like Kindness.org’s Empathy Charades with friends or the little ones in your life, to get these gears turning.
    • Need a change of scene? We recently featured the 8 best cities to call home as an actor. Pop a summer visit to one on the calendar and see what you think!
    • Look into local wellness classes near you! From yoga mornings on the beach to outdoor fitness groups, there are countless options to get in touch with your inner light and form a wellness community.

Live/ Virtual Events:

    • Happy 4th of July! Check out your local events or watch a spectacular like the 47th Annual Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks to celebrate.
    • Cue intense tuba orchestrations! Shark Week splashes onto Discovery Channel July 11 – 18. Analyzing animal behavior is a nice thing to throw in an actor’s bucket of skills, plus it’s a killer summer watch.
    • While your computer may still be glitching from trying to get Beyonce or Taylor Swift tickets, never fear! There’s a dazzling discography of concerts and festivals to attend this summer.
    • When the heat gets too intense, retreat inside a nice cool Broadway theatre! This month shows like Here Lies Live and The Cottage are raising the curtain. Of course, there are always wonderful regional theatres to support near you, too!
