JOHN MASON was born of drugs and has lived a life avoiding drugs. The drug life dogs him and even the woman he falls in love with is a drug addict. He wants to fight it with her and for her. His greatest fear is that one day, he will take that first hit of something. He knows that it only takes one hit to slide down that slippery slope into addiction. He struggles to avoid it, but he wonders when that one hit will occur…

RONNIE MASON is JOHN’s grandfather and raised him after taking him from his drug addict mother. He drinks a bit, but never had any substance abuse problem. He does, however, have cancer.
