Project Creators – Here’s Why You Need to Verify Your Account

You’ve just created an account as a project creator for Casting Networks and have verified your email. Congratulations! However, before you are able to create your first project, you’ll need to take one final step.

Why did I receive a verification email?

Verifying your account helps us make sure you are exactly who you say you are. This is strictly for safety reasons to ensure that no one can impersonate you. To borrow from Jerry Maguire, this helps us help you.

For example, if you created an account under the name Steven Spielberg, we might not want to approve your account based on the honor system. It’s not that we don’t trust you, we just want to make sure everything is legitimate.

What information will I need to provide?

You can provide any information that helps our team know that you are exactly who you say you are. This can be a number of things which include but are not limited to links to your IMDb page, your YouTube channel, your personal and/or company website and social media pages. You may also add a company phone number or email address that can be found on your company’s website (if you have a company website) as well as your company’s social media accounts. And although only two links are required, the more information you provide, the better.

Why do I need to provide more information?

The reason you need to provide more information is a matter of security. At the end of the day, we just want to ensure that you are the person that you say you are.

Going back to the Steven Spielberg example, when you signed up for your project creator account, the initial information you provided was the name ‘Steven Spielberg,’ Steven Spielberg’s IMDb page, Amblin Entertainment as your company name and a link to its website. You also provided Steven Spielberg’s social media channels, a cell phone number and a Gmail address.

However, since the phone number and email address are not associated with Amblin and anyone can make a Steven Spielberg-related Gmail address as well as provide those links, there’s no way to tell that you’re you from that information. In that case, you will need to provide your official Amblin company email address to help our team verify your account.

Can I just add my information to my projects?

Casting Networks does not allow you to put your email address or phone number on your projects for security purposes. Once an actor has submitted to your project on Casting Networks, you can then connect with them through the platform, and, if needed, you can provide your contact information to your selects by creating a Media Request.

Now that you understand Casting Networks’ project creator verification process, it’s time to finish that last step. Get your information verified and start posting your projects today!
