Project Details
Two Black artist roommates struggle to finish a handmade creation while mounting financial pressure and a dispute over authorship begin to fracture their longtime friendship. But when their ordinary Los Angeles apartment starts behaving in impossible ways, the line between their creative work and the world around them begins to disappear. Trapped inside an increasingly surreal environment built from cardboard, unfinished ideas, and fragments of their shared past, the two men must navigate a psychological nightmare that seems to understand them more intimately than it should. Kozmiel’s Boxed In is an intimate psychological horror film about friendship, artistic ownership, ambition, and the unsettling question of what a creator truly owns once a creation begins to take on a life of its own.
