PAUL CROSS — Male, White, late 20s–40s Paul Cross is intelligent, controlled, unpredictable, and psychologically complex. He is not a traditional loud or physically aggressive villain. He can remain calm in situations where another person would panic, which makes him difficult to read. Paul has spent years pursuing answers surrounding a devastating event from his past. His investigation has led him into a dangerous campaign against people he believes are connected to a larger system. The character should feel intelligent enough that the audience understands why people are drawn into his world, while also making clear that his actions have crossed serious moral boundaries. Paul requires an actor capable of shifting between calm conversation, vulnerability, menace, and sudden emotional intensity without making the character feel theatrical. Performance qualities: charismatic, restrained, intelligent, unpredictable, emotionally damaged, quietly threatening. Casting note: Strong dramatic/thriller experience preferred. The role contains emotionally intense scenes and requires significant control over subtext and physical presence.
