About the Job
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN: Rebecca is a Teacher—a career defined by caregiving, high energy, and constantly being "on" for others. Now, she is the one who needs care. She has been on her current antidepressant for three months. She’s "better" than she was (she’s out of bed, she’s talking), but she has hit a wall. She is currently experiencing anhedonia—a complete loss of interest in things she once loved, like her passion for photography. The Internal Conflict: Rebecca feels like a failure. She sees the responsibilities and household tasks piling up around her and senses her husband's concern and disappointment, which triggers her anxiety. She isn't just "sad"; she is "stuck." Performance Note: We are looking for a grounded, nuanced performance. Avoid "cliché" depression; focus on the internal weight and the physiological "spikes" of anxiety (fidgeting, tension, subtle shifts in posture and breathing).
