Ranjiv Perera is one of only four teachers mentored by Martin Barter to teach the Meisner Technique. Having first trained as a student under Barter and completing the 2-year traditional program, Perera went on to work in casting under Lisa Essary at Heidi Levitt Casting. This led him to discover a desire to not just direct, but guide and teach actors.
In 2009, Perera returned to Barter at the Sanford Meisner Center to assist and begin teacher training. Observing and assisting Barter for five years gave Perera the deep understanding and skills needed to continue the legacy set by Meisner, and demanded by Barter.
