The Artios Awards are a crown jewel in any casting director’s trophy case, and on Wednesday, the casting world celebrated 40 years of excellence. The Casting Society’s annual event honors the achievements of casting directors in film, TV and theater. The triple-location show, sponsored by Spotlight, was hosted by Jordan Carlos (New York), Janelle James (Los Angeles) and Susan Wokoma (London).

Host Jordan Carlos kicked off the Artios, setting the evening’s playful tone for presenters Michael Cyril Creighton, Dagmara Domińczyk, Noma Dumezweni, Ray Fisher, John Magaro, Jinkx Monsoon, Ethan Slater and Patrick Wilson.
Film winners included Oscar candidates Wicked, A Complete Unknown, Conclave and Emilia Pérez, the latter earning the Artios for International Feature, a new category.
In the TV comedy series category, Hacks pulled off an impressive win over The Bear and Only Murders in the Building. Other TV winners included Shōgun and RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Daniel Swee, who received the Marion Dougherty New York Apple Award, was honored with a video package of praise from his peers.
Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, Abbott Elementary‘s Janelle James led a star-stuffed evening through a rallying cry for casting at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Presenters included Marissa Bode, Garcelle Beauvais, Joel Kim Booster, Sasha Colby, Ethan Herisse, Frankie Grande, Nava Mau, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Parvati Shallow and Brandon Wilson.
John Papsidera, who received the Hoyt Bowers Award for Excellence in Casting, got a highlight reel of his own recognizing an undeniable industry legacy that includes iconic projects like Oppenheimer, Yellowstone, Austin Powers and many more throughout his multi-decade career.

Paris-based Casting Director Juliette Ménager was awarded the Capelier-Shaw Award for Excellence in Casting, and Casting Director David Grindrod was honored with the Creative Collaboration Award at the White City House.
Amanda Ogen and Josy Rodriguez received the Associate Casting Director and Casting Producer Spotlight Awards, while Zora DeHorter’s legacy was honored posthumously with the Rosalie Joseph Humanitarian Award.
CSA President Destiny Lilly announced a new Artios category for 2026 called the London Theater Award, celebrating UK theater casting.
