The Other King
When a film crew arrives in Dallas expecting to document the city's most celebrated detective, they're redirected instead to his brother, Terry King, and the eccentric team he's assembled: a sharp-tongued partner secretly job-hunting behind his back, a paranoid surveillance specialist convinced a shadowy network called "The Block" is closing in, and a gentle giant learning the job the hard way — one questionable training exercise at a time. What starts as an awkward, low-stakes documentary shoot spirals into a real murder investigation, pulling in grieving family members, a suspiciously unbothered elderly homeowner, and a self-appointed "hood philosopher" who may hold the key to it all. Told through a blend of raw observational footage and fully cinematic dramatized scenes, The Other King is a story about chasing legitimacy, family, and truth — even when nobody around you is fully equipped to find it.
