In a small coastal village in Japan, 75-year-old retired Ama diver Toshiko is raising her young granddaughter, Yuki, after the tragic death of Yuki’s mother during a diving accident. Haunted by grief and determined to protect Yuki from the ocean’s dangers, Toshiko tells her the cautionary tale of the Tomokazuki, a vengeful spirit lurking beneath the sea. But as Yuki’s fascination with the water grows, Toshiko begins to sense a sinister presence closing in around them.
