About the Job
A 75-year-old retired Ama diver from a small small coastal village in Japan, Toshiko is raising her granddaughter, Yuki, after the tragic death of her daughter during a dive. Once deeply connected to the ocean, Toshiko now views it as both a threat and a curse, fearing it will claim Yuki just as it did her mother. Strong-willed yet haunted by grief, Toshiko has turned away from the Ama tradition, determined to determined to protect Yuki. She loves Yuki, but her overprotective nature masks unresolved guilt, forcing her to confront her past as Yuki's fascination with the Ama grows. MUST SPEAK JAPANESE AND ENGLISH
