Angela is a shy but gifted high school singer who secretly lives a double life online as “Echo,” a legendary player in the music-fantasy game Song Slayer, where she falls deeply in love with her gaming partner, “Dax.” When Angela discovers that Dax is actually Dexter— the feared gang-affiliated bully at her school and the boy connected to her tormentor Camilla — her fantasy romance collides with reality. Angela gives Dexter three chances to prove he is not truly a bully, criminal, or cheater, but each test ends in betrayal, culminating in Camilla brutally crushing Angela’s hands while Dexter initially stands by unaware that she is Echo. After learning the truth, Dexter is consumed with guilt and desperately tries to earn forgiveness, while Angela struggles with heartbreak, the loss of her musical future, and the realization that love alone cannot undo trauma. As Angela begins rebuilding her life with the support of her loyal childhood friend Jake, Dexter spirals into self-destruction trying to prove he can change before he loses her forever.
