Baba
About the Job
Female, playing age 65 to 80. Ukrainian or Eastern European appearance preferred. Sofiia’s late grandmother, seen only by Sofiia and by us. She never speaks, and no one else acknowledges her. Calm and giving nothing away. Look is a faded vyshyvanka in plain colors. Skills recommended are stillness and presence on camera, precise eye lines, holding a look for several seconds, matching Sofiia’s pace on the closing walk, and patience with locked off takes, since she is shot twice for the dissolves.
