Lola
About the Job
We are looking for interesting individuals.. David Lynch vibes, Duane Hanson-esque characters, interesting faces, with strong acting abilities. Character Profile: Beautiful but heavily edged. Lola is a brilliant, street-smart former car thief trying to keep her head down after a three-year stint in prison. She is hyper-vigilant, calculated, and possesses a sharp survival instinct, but remains susceptible to the specific, dangerous gravity of high-stakes thrills. Context & Directorial Note for SIDES: In this scene, Lola and Margot have just successfully boosted a luxury car. Lola is just beginning to relax into the thrill and adrenaline of the escape when Margot casually drops a bomb: the vehicle belongs to the city's mayor. The Emotional Arc: Lola is suddenly thrust into a total tailspin. Not only has she broken a promise to herself by sliding back into crime, but she has unwittingly implicated herself in a massive, high-profile felony. While the dialogue is heightened, this isn’t just a scene of flat yelling. Instead, I would love to see a clean, controlled transition through her emotional journey: from heightened panic, to frantic bargaining, to survival-driven problem solving, and finally settling into a deep, volatile anger.
