About the Job
Male, 38-55 Latinx, Native American, Caucasian, Ethnically Ambiguous “Sunshine Joe”is a lovable, sun-soaked optimist who is fully committed to his summer adventure, even when the trip keeps going hilariously sideways. Joe should feel warm, relaxed, outdoorsy, and instantly loveable. Think Pedro Pascal or Woody Harrelson-type energy: charming, confident, with a great smile. He’s a down to earth guy we root for, who’s enjoying the rays and his summer vacation. PERFORMANCE NOTES Should be a strong actor with natural physical comedic instincts. Joe needs to sell expressive moments: proud confidence, total absorption in his phone, surprise, pain, embarrassment, and cheerful resilience. Comedy should come from sincerity and timing. Joe can walk into a cactus or get destroyed by a taco and still feel charming and relatable.
