Talent Systems was honored this month to lend its support to emerging casting directors by participating in the CBS Leadership Pipeline Challenge. The Pipeline Challenge empowers storytellers to step into creative leadership positions to support LA-based non-profit organizations. With a design centered around inclusion, this initiative merges social impact and leadership development by leveraging education, mentorship and filmmaking opportunities toward the shared goal of uplifting local nonprofits. This is the third year that Talent Systems has participated in the event.

Early-career storytellers made short films in three weeks with a $5,000 budget in alignment with the missions of local nonprofits. Talent Systems provided participants with accounts on Casting Networks and Cast It Systems to cast their short films.

Congratulations to all of the participants and to the team behind the winning film, Penciled With Power. The short film was made for LA-based Watts of Power Foundation, which aims to establish a culturally affirming, community-rooted approach to cultivating Black public school teachers to address the academic achievement, social-emotional development and mental health needs of Black youth. Talent Systems awarded Aisha Singleton, the casting director of Penciled With Power, with the Emerging Casting Director Award based on her extensive use of the Cast It Systems and Casting Networks platforms.

We’d also like to thank the entire team at CBS Studios for their continued support.
