****this a special unique project out of the normal path..read the entire information and mention that you read it in your submission*** Plot: a young man angry at his pregnant girlfriend for flirting with an athlete leads to tragedy. Micah Ronaldson and Carrie Michaels are at a party celebrating a college teams recent victory. At the party, Carrie engages in an extended conversation with a top athlete much to Micah's dismay. In the midst of it all, the car swerves off the road and crashes into a tree kiling Carrie. The baby miraculously survives. Micah will spend four years in jail due to a high blood alcohol concentration. We follow the journey of Micah after he is released from prison. Micah tries to connect with his son four years after the tragic incident. He has to deal with his child's grandparents who won sole custody over his parents. The grandparents refuse to let Micah in their child's life and this moves to a battle in court. Micah has to deal with Carrie's still raging twin brother who has threatened death on him. We watch Micah try and pick up some kind of career in his love of sports despite being continuously rejected. This is a man who let jealousy break his life in half and he is fighting back... Visonary meaning: A visionary in film is a filmmaker (director, writer, producer) who brings a unique, often groundbreaking perspective, using imagination and technical innovation to challenge norms, create new visual languages, or explore profound themes, leaving a significant imprint on the medium and culture, rather than just making standard movies. They are known for having a strong, singular creative control, pushing boundaries, and influencing future filmmaking, even if the term is sometimes overused in marketing Visionaries Beyond The Definition: In this age of Hollywood, visionaries get a bad wrap. Doing things out of the norm is usually met with doubt. The odd thing about that situation is that its the visionaries who created and strategized outside of the box that made the biggest noise...

Project Notes

A BLACK FILMMAKER WHO WENT TO SCHOOL IN SOUTH CENTRAL LOS ANGELES.... Today history was made. It started when Ryan Coogler, a black man who went to school in South Central Los Angeles (USC) connected with a black actor. They had a meeting at Starbucks at the ICONIC Universal Studios City Walk. By the time that meeting was over, the two knew they were locked into one another. Ryan knew that he had his muse and Jordan knew that he had his mentor. For the next 13 years, the two black men built an unprecedented trail of billions and box office success. The Actor/Director duo weren't part of cliques. They didn't put one another off with words such as 'I am busy today' or 'I need to go check out this club'. They didn't allow detractors who play in the 'He said/she said' aspect of rising Hollywood take them off purpose. They didn't pander to the popular ones in Hollywood. The two decided that THEY were enough. They had a goal and with both of them locked into the arms of loyalty and trust, they set out to make unprecedented success happen...and make it happen they did in extraordinarily flair. By the time the two black men reached their 12th year as a dominating unit, Coogler envisioned an original product called Sinners. An ambitious movie that required the lead actor to play twins. This was a gift to not only himself, but to his muse Michael B Jordan. The man that stood beside him with no drama and extraordinarily rare loyalty. The project became a gift to the world and a unique, original box office smash. The icing on the cake came today with a history, record breaking Hollywood achievement: These two black men received 16 nominations for Sinners. No other film in the HISTORY of Hollywood has EVER done this. Now think about this – Thirteen years, South Central School, Black Skin and a historical domination of epic proportions. This is what unity looks like. This is what connection looks like. This is what 'no excuses' look like. This is what making LEGIT time for your dream looks like. This is what two black men creating a shield around them and not giving a damn 'what other people think' looks like. This is what it looks like when you as a creator takes the time to get to know a talent and vice versa. Along the way, Coogler and Jordan have made incredible history through their art. Ruth Carter has been nominated at the Academy Awards three times for work with these two men. Two times she won with the third chance now pending. Had there never been a duo of Michael and Ryan, a black woman may not have dual Oscars for costume design. The team of two resurrected an iconic platform in the form of Rocky and brought it to a new generation with smashing receipts. This is it folks. All that drama, attitude and untouchable air of superiority most people do in this business does not lead to this. Bravo to Michael B Jordan and Ryan Coogler for the fate that brought them together, the bond that held them and the creative destruction they brought to the Hollywood system... When Ryan and Michael initially met at that game changing meeting at Starbucks at Universal Studios, it was Jordan that was the 'vet' in the business. Ryan was a newbie without any signficant credit. Give all the credit to Jordan for understanding the connection and the vision of Ryan. By the time the meeting was over, Jordan knew that Coogler would be his mentor and Ryan knew Michael was his muse and mentee.. It was a decision that has made them both Hollywood A-list and bank accounts worth millions..
