The Questing Company
The Questing Company is a fast-paced fantasy-comedy sketch series made for short-form digital platforms, with sketches typically running 30 seconds to 3 minutes. The project blends tabletop RPGs, fantasy movies, Ren Faire culture, gaming, improv comedy, and internet sketch pacing into something that feels like Monty Python meets Dungeons & Dragons meets your most chaotic group chat. The tone is smart, frenetic, self-aware, and character-driven. The sketches often begin with recognizable fantasy tropes, (the chosen hero, the rogue, the Ren Faire worker, the RPG side quest, the sword in the stone) and then immediately undercut it with modern commentary, deadpan humor, absurdity, or very committed stupidity. The attached scenes are from two sketches: “What Gaming Looks Like vs. What It Feels Like,” in which a first-person RPG player immediately starts pickpocketing the NPCs instead of helping them, and “Behind the Scenes at the Ren Faire,” which follows a group of exhausted Ren Faire workers complaining about sunburn, turkey legs, and unionizing while still in full fantasy costume. Future sketches we are developing include similar fantasy-comedy premises, such as D&D classes competing to pull the sword from the stone, fantasy NPCs behaving like customer service workers, and other absurd combinations.
