The story flashes back to the previous day, during the birthday celebration of Tony, the wealthy patriarch who gathers his family for dinner. Amid family tensions and humiliations directed at Brittany, Tony suddenly dies during the meal, apparently poisoned. Chaos erupts: some family members immediately accuse Brittany, while others hesitate. She is pressured to prove her innocence.
