Oliver, a young musician desperate to prove himself as the artist he is meant to be, struggles with his self-confidence. This puts a strain upon his relationship with his girlfriend, Yuri. Understanding that it is either her, or his future, they decide to take a step back from each other so Oliver can focus on his deadline. Realising that Yuri left her prized knife with him, Oliver runs after her. When he catches up he sees a masked man kidnap Yuri. Chasing after her the man knocks out Oliver. When Oliver awakes he finds a letter giving him an address to a school to attempt to get his girlfriend back. Oliver, on the way to the school, recalls what had happened in his hometown over the last week. A maniacal serial killer aptly named by the media “Hades” has been killing the low=lifes of the town based on their “sins”. Drowning a man, stabbing a woman, and strangling the man who gave him his name, Hades is not one to stray away from theatrics. When Yuri wakes up tied to a desk chair, Hades air-violins to Camille Saint-Saens “Danse Macabre in G Minor”. He exclaims the beauty of death within life, and within the song. As Oliver enters the building to save his girlfriend he realises there is liquid on the floor, gasoline. Oliver walks into the doorway of the classroom Hades is in. Hades lunges, a quick fight ensues. Yuri's knife is thrown from Oliver to Hades, impaling him. Nothing but a drop of blood, but Yuri smiles because he finally hit something. Hades holds Yuri, and gives an ultimatum to Oliver. He can walk out of the building, as long as he trusts that Yuri is behind him. Oliver, self confidence low, looks behind as he walks out, and Hades stabs Yuri. Oliver grabs her as she tells him to keep chasing his dream, because she isn't it. Oliver drives away, as Tom calls him.
