Project Details
I’m casting a short film called “You Ain't Gotta Lie To Kick It” Directed by Keaton Greene and screenplay by Kole Greene. The film will be shooting in late November and we are looking for our leads and various supporting and extra roles. STORY: Bubbly, naively optimistic girl goes to dinner with an obnoxiously fitted, fronting aura farmer. Shot in a pretentiously stuffy restaurant on 35mm ektachrome. Colorful. Old money stench. ‘You Ain’t Gotta Lie to [Kick] It’, is the second of three films within the broader anthology short film series entitled ‘You’re Missing The Point’ which will be a multimedia social critique evaluating contemporary society’s relationship to perception and authenticity. The goal for this project is to land within the vast confines of the art world - being showcased within gallery settings in LA, NY and MN (Keaton & Kole’s hometown). The world with which YAGLTKI takes place walks a fine line - it’s an exaggerative and surrealist expression while still feeling just grounded enough for someone to say of one of the characters ‘I remember seeing someone like that before’. These are caricatures of the people we see and interact with on a daily basis. That said, they’re the kind of unique individuals you meet once and never forget because, well…they’re a little bizarre.
