“Right Before You Left” Short Film UCLA Thesis Film (TBD if registered as SAG Student Film) Directed by Oriana Theo Genre: Dark Absurdist Psychological Drama REHEARSAL DATES: TBD SHOOT DATES: November 19th - November 24th *Multiple shoot dates not guaranteed* LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA Rate: $300 (inclusive of agency fee) per 10 hour shoot day. Film Logline & Synopsis: Logline: Sybil, devoted and timid, becomes entangled in a psychosexual relationship with the arrogant self-possessed nurse she hired to support her in taking care of her demented husband. Synopsis: We are thrown into a strange world; a world circumscribed by the walls of an aging Gothic house. A world inhabited by three people who are locked into painful, complicated dynamics. Glimpses of what happens in this house (dinner, chores) show us the mind games Sybil and Wade are playing, the terror that Calvin feels, and a growing darkness that takes the form of a witch. Wade oversteps, Sybil caves, Calvin grapples with his tenuous grip on reality. It all culminates in an evening that fundamentally shifts the power dynamics in the house, and alters each of their lives.
