Project Details
Hannah, a professional woman in her late thirties, is confronted by a man with brilliant but lifeless blue eyes in a dark alley on her way home from work. In the months after her attack, her small world shrinks even further as she struggles to come to terms with what happened and what is growing inside her as a result. One night, something emerges from within her – an entity, neither human nor animal – and stalks her through the house, calling her "Maa". Only when she turns her sewing scissors on her own belly does it back away. She wakes. The next day, as she folds tiny clothes in the nursery, her waters break and she gives birth on the floor. Not to a baby, but to a fully grown man – the same man who hunted her down nine months ago and has been using her body as a vessel to be born again. Hearing her screams, her concerned neighbours let themselves in. They discover her lifeless body discarded on the floor, and in the cot, a newborn baby with the same blue eyes.
