Measured is a short drama about Avery, an androgynous, masculine-presenting Lesbian woman who is deeply in tune with both her masculine and feminine energy. In a quiet moment at home, a conversation with her girlfriend Jayla begins to unravel the truth about their relationship. Jayla, who struggles with narcissistic tendencies and rigid ideas of dominance, repeatedly pressures Avery to “man up” and embody a version of masculinity that feels performative rather than authentic. As the conversation intensifies, Avery is forced to confront the painful reality that the love she has been giving freely is being measured against expectations she was never meant to fulfill. Measured explores identity, gender expression, emotional vulnerability, and what happens when someone you love tries to mold you into someone you are not.
