Synopsis:
In one tense music workshop inside a juvenile detention center, Jamie—a young corporate lawyer in over his head—tries to impose structure on a group of detained teens and quickly loses the room. When Destiny calls him out, the session pivots and we, and Jamie, begin to dive more deeply into the truth of these detained kids and their heartbreaking stories. The short culminates in Destiny’s raw, unpolished performance—an eruption that reframes the entire space. The Session is a condensed sequence lifted from the feature JDs*, designed to capture the film’s tone: grounded realism, volatile humor, and music as survival rather than inspiration.
