Project Details
Synopsis
We are seeking a compelling on-camera presence to lead a travel documentary set in Louisiana, exploring the state’s rich culinary identity — where Cajun and Creole traditions, bayou culture, immigrant influence, music, history, and hospitality converge into something deeply rooted, soulful, and unmistakably alive.
This project centers on observation, listening, and lived experience. The host will move through Louisiana not as a food critic, but as a global traveler discovering the soul of the region through its people, traditions, kitchens, and stories.
The role requires someone who feels naturally curious, emotionally present, and genuinely immersed in the experience of discovering Louisiana’s culinary world for the first time.
Additional Information:
* Seeking talent with a distinctive, non-American accent that feels worldly, warm, and culturally engaging
* Strong preference for Louisiana locals
* Acts as the narrative anchor and primary on-camera participant throughout the episode
* Engages authentically with local chefs, historians, fishermen, and cultural experts through light, natural conversation
* Must be comfortable participating in immersive culinary and cultural experiences throughout Louisiana
* Needed for 3 full shoot days
* Will also record voiceover narration for the final episode
* Full buyout, in perpetuity
* Approximate 5-minute deliverable for web/social platforms
* Client will be disclosed to those best suited for the role
* Content is intended for family-friendly viewing and engagement
This is a LOCAL HIRE role.
Talent must:
* Be comfortable riding on an airboat in bayou environments
* Be comfortable eating and discussing seafood on camera
We will be requesting self-tapes/reels from top contenders, so please keep an eye out for tape requests.
Demographic:
Reads as an international traveler — globally minded, culturally curious, and believable as someone experiencing Louisiana’s culinary heritage through fresh eyes.
Qualities:
* Must speak English with an authentic, identifiable foreign accent — the role is written as a global traveler discovering American culinary heritage
* Genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for food, culinary history, and cultural tradition
* Comfortable and natural in a range of environments including intimate working kitchens, outdoor bayou settings, local markets, fine dining restaurants, and cultural landmarks
* Warm, engaging screen presence that feels authentic and observational rather than overly hosted or scripted
* Strong listener with the ability to react naturally to real people and real experiences
* Bonus points if talent is a chef or actively involved in the culinary or hospitality world
Strong preference for talent already local to Louisiana or deeply connected to the regional food scene.
