Betrayed and murdered in her past life, Althea Ashford awakens three days before her doomed engagement. At her family's husband-selection banquet, she secretly records her choice on a property gift agreement, to be revealed later. When her treacherous husband, Marcus, and half-sister, Serena, arrive to claim her, Althea publicly humiliates them and shocks everyone by choosing Marcus's powerful uncle, Alessandro Contini. After surviving retaliation from the pair, Althea's strategic alliance with Alessandro begins to deepen. At their engagement banquet, Marcus attempts a final humiliation, but Alessandro ends it violently, declares Althea his future mistress, and—when the property agreement is opened—is revealed as the rightful recipient. The disgraced lovers are expelled. Alessandro proves their marriage is no transaction, reclaiming her stolen future and gifting her a dagger from her past life. Misunderstandings about his capability arise, but are later dispelled. A ruined Serena tries to drug Alessandro, but he exposes her. In his compromised state, Althea chooses to stay with him, solidifying their bond. Marcus, provoked, kills Serena. At their wedding, Marcus—revealing he was also reborn—plays a recording of Alessandro admitting he loved someone for years. Alessandro produces Althea's childhood keepsake, declaring she was that love all along. On their wedding night, Althea learns the full truth: Alessandro too is reborn, living this life solely to protect her after a lifetime of regret. With enemies gone and truths revealed, they step into a future built on choice, not fate.
