Documentary Series
Project Details
This is a celebration of culture, food, and family—a way of exploring what brings us across continents, oceans, and borders to share love, traditions, and, of course, food. As an episodic documentary short series, Mix explores the lives of interracial, interfaith, and intercultural couples who are first-generation Americans. Each episode examines the origins of a relationship, cultural similarities and differences, family traditions, food, children, and the many other aspects of building a life together in a blended union. Future episodes will feature couples from across America, highlighting stories from both major cities and small towns. With a strong emphasis on recipes, family traditions, and the foods of the past and present, Mix is a tribute to the people, cultures, and experiences that have shaped America. As we enrich our lives through different cultures and relationships, we discover that we are far more alike than we are different—and that food has a remarkable power to connect us all.
