Project Details
Actors needed for CreatiVets’ Scars to Scripts table read on Tuesday, Sep 22, 2026 at American Legion Hollywood Post 43 in Los Angeles. CreatiVets helps veterans heal through art, music and storytelling. In Scars to Scripts, veterans work with professional screenwriters and veteran mentors to turn personal experiences into short dramatic scenes. The following evening, actors give those stories a voice in a supportive table read with the veterans present. Monday’s writing team includes professionals whose work spans Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Reign Over Me, CSI: NY and Barry. You’ll be helping veterans hear their experiences understood and honored—part of a creative process that can change lives. We’re looking for thoughtful actors who can bring honesty, empathy and care to these real stories. Veteran actors are especially encouraged to submit. There are four scenes, with approximately 3–4 characters each; final roles and scripts will be confirmed Monday evening. Compensation is $70 plus a $20 gas stipend, with on-site parking and light fare provided. Payment is available through Zelle after submitting an invoice
