Set during the cultural explosion of late-1990s Atlanta, Chloe & Janelle: First Semester follows two young women from Harlem as they begin their freshman year at Clark Atlanta University. Chloe is disciplined, ambitious, and determined to escape the limitations of her upbringing. Janelle is magnetic, impulsive, and eager to reinvent herself in a city that feels bigger, louder, and more intoxicating than anything they’ve known before. What begins as a vibrant coming-of-age story rooted in HBCU culture, friendship, music, fashion, and first love slowly evolves into a grounded emotional thriller as the women become entangled in nightlife, influence, hustlers, and dangerous choices.
