Along The Road (innovate dance film finalist)

Short Film UBCP / ACTRA
Vancouver
Synopsis:

This project is for the Innovate Dance Film Showcase. UBCP/ACTRA ULB | open to both union and non-union performers in Vancouver, BC Canada. Along the Road is a three-minute magical realism dance film in which two children — one Chinese, one Punjabi — play together in a park sandbox. Their everyday play reveals a friendship that may have always existed between their ancestors: a shared tea ceremony on the Silk Road, side by side labor building the Canadian Pacific Railroad, and gestures passed down so naturally they surface in a child's play. The film closes with the children inventing new movements together, showing how each generation inherits, but also redefines what was given to them.
