Adventurers W/ A Japanese Accent - Seattle
Project Details
***COULD BE A SINGLE HOST OR A DUO (REAL COUPLE, FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER)*** Filmed in a cinematic, immersive documentary style, the story follows a single international traveler from Japan as they experience Seattle and discover the people, places, culture, and innovations that have shaped the city’s identity. Production will take place throughout the Seattle area, capturing its history, natural beauty, creativity, transportation, and enduring influence on American culture. This role is written as a global traveler experiencing Seattle through fresh eyes. We are seeking a compelling on-camera host who is naturally curious, emotionally present, and genuinely interested in uncovering the stories behind one of America’s most distinctive cities. This is not a traditional presenter role. Rather than delivering information as an expert, the host should feel like an intelligent traveler exploring Seattle in real time, discovering its history, landmarks, innovations, scenery, and the people and traditions that continue to shape its identity. The Ideal Candidate: • Possesses genuine curiosity about history, culture, transportation, aviation, innovation, and the people who contribute to a city’s identity. • Is globally minded, culturally curious, and eager to engage with people from all walks of life. • Has a warm, authentic, and engaging on-camera presence. • Feels believable as someone experiencing Seattle for the first time, allowing the audience to discover the city alongside them. • Is comfortable asking thoughtful questions, listening attentively, and reacting naturally rather than presenting as an expert. • Appreciates history, architecture, art, design, food, natural scenery, and local culture, approaching each with curiosity and respect. • Is charismatic without feeling performative, creating the sense of a thoughtful traveler fully immersed in the journey. Throughout filming, the host will move seamlessly between intimate interactions and larger-scale cinematic experiences while exploring Seattle’s transportation, aviation history, waterfront, neighborhoods, landmarks, and surrounding natural beauty. Requirements: • Must speak fluent English with an authentic, identifiable Japanese accent. We are specifically seeking the accent rather than Japanese-language proficiency. • Must be comfortable filming at and participating in activities involving the following locations -SeaTac Airport (gathering baggage and exiting the airport) -Link Light Rail (boarding and riding the light rail) -Museum of Flight -Kenmore Air Seaplane (must be comfortable riding in a seaplane) -Kerry Park -Waterfront e-bike ride (must be comfortable riding an e-bike) -Washington State Ferry (filming will include riding the ferry) -Must be confident walking, exploring, traveling, and filming throughout the Seattle area in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. • Previous hosting or on-camera experience is preferred, but authentic personality, curiosity, and presence are the highest priorities. We’re looking for someone whose curiosity feels genuine, whose reactions are authentic, and whose sense of discovery invites audiences around the world to experience Seattle through fresh eyes.
