About the Job
SUPPORTING. Black Male, Age 40s. Hagar's great love. A sturdy working man with weathered hands, but charming and light on his feet, an elegant dancer. He’s a true craftsman and takes great pride in working with both mind and hands. He and Hagar dreamed of building a life in Memphis together, but when the time came he backed out and couldn't bring himself to tell her why: he was gravely ill. He appears primary through flashback, except for in the films final moments as a spirit, and the audience realizes he has been deceased this entire time. His final moment with Hagar is entirely wordless, carrying remorse, forgiveness, and finally, permission to let go. (Must be comfortable around water.)
