Debating News Anchor #2 - Ryan (urgently casting)
About the Job
Ryan is an experienced television commentator appearing as a guest on Sarah’s true-crime program to discuss the Elena Blake case. Ryan is analytical, measured, and skeptical of the information circulating online. He believes the case deserves serious investigation, but strongly objects to treating social-media speculation and unverified footage as established fact. He is not defending Elena — he is arguing that accusations should be based on evidence that can actually be verified. Initially respectful toward Sarah, Ryan attempts to calmly explain his position. As Sarah repeatedly interrupts and challenges him, however, his frustration begins to show. He is confident enough to push back against a strong personality like Sarah, even as the conversation becomes increasingly heated. The actor should feel comfortable speaking naturally on camera and reacting in real time to another person. Ryan should come across as intelligent, credible, and composed, while still allowing genuine frustration to emerge as Sarah pushes him. The goal is a believable live television disagreement — not a polished monologue or exaggerated “news anchor” performance.
