Youth Field Reporter/Correspondent

About the Job

We are seeking outgoing, curious, and confident young people to serve as Youth Field Reporters/Correspondents for Voices of the Vote, a youth-led, vox pop-style journalism project filming across Los Angeles. Selected reporters will take to the streets to interview everyday people about the issues, experiences, and perspectives shaping the 2026 election season. Reporters will deliver short on-camera introductions and closings, approach community members, ask prepared questions, and engage in natural, unscripted conversations. We are looking for young people who are comfortable speaking on camera, naturally curious, energetic, personable, and able to think on their feet. You do not need to be an actor or have previous journalism experience. Authentic personality and the ability to connect with people are most important. This is a nonpartisan project. Reporters will not be asked to promote a candidate, political party, or political viewpoint. The goal is to listen to and capture a range of community voices and perspectives.
