When Steven’s parents ask him to leave their home during high school, Cecilia and Steven approach her mother about letting him stay with their family. She initially objects to Cecilia living with her boyfriend. Cecilia threatens to run away if Steven has nowhere to go, and her family eventually agrees to take him in.
