Role: “Lady”; Women Ages 45–65

About the Job

Role: “Lady” Gender: Female Age Range: 45–65 Ethnicity: Open Role Description: A pioneering neuroscientist awakening from a serious accident inside an experimental clinic she helped create. Within the clinic’s constructed narrative, she becomes “Lady”: an amnesiac searching for her family and slowly falling in love with a man she no longer recognizes. Intelligent, skeptical, dryly funny, and emotionally guarded. She begins as a woman desperate to recover her past, only to discover that the memories comforting her may have been manufactured. Requires an actor capable of moving between sharp intellectual command, romantic playfulness, disorientation, grief, and profound restraint. At its core, the role concerns a woman deciding whether a beautiful fiction can offer a meaningful goodbye.
