Doctor
2 N/u Commercials:regional Convenience Store - Dc
About the Job
Man, playing age 40s-50s. Open to all ethnicities. (speaking) A credible physician with authority, intelligence and dramatic weight. He enters as though he is about to deliver frightening medical news, then reveals that the real problem is terrible coffee and service. The performance must remain completely serious and dry. He should communicate a subtle emotional lift when he enters this convenience store and experiences the food and hospitality. • Performances should feel grounded, cinematic and completely sincere. The humor comes from treating an ordinary convenience-store disappointment with extraordinary seriousness. Do not signal or play directly to the joke. • We’re prioritizing strong listeners and reactions, not just strong line reads. A lot of the humor lives in expressions, pauses and awkward silence.
