Pastor / Wedding Officiant
About the Job
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK AS A LAS VEGAS LOCAL HIRE. We are looking for a charismatic American wedding officiant for a vow renewal scene set in a small Las Vegas chapel. Important: This is not a parody of a Vegas pastor. At first glance, the character belongs to the world of neon chapels, fake flowers, slightly over-air-conditioned rooms and quick ceremonies. He may feel a little too polished, a little routine, maybe even slightly awkward when reading Polish names from a piece of paper. There should be a light comedic edge in the beginning. He is that kind of person who has probably performed hundreds of ceremonies for tourists, Elvis couples, drunk couples, nervous couples and people who thought marriage was a great idea at 2:00 a.m. But then it has to shift to something more mature. The pastor becomes unexpectedly present, warm and emotionally precise. He delivers a speech that is not just about marriage, but about growing up in public, building a life in front of millions, becoming parents, and learning that love is not only an adventure, but a hard work in the first place. We need an actor who can carry both tones. The speech must feel sincere, human and grounded. Not preachy. Not theatrical. Not sentimental in a fake way. He is not giving a sermon. ● American English speaker (possible accent is not an issue) ● The actor must have excellent timing and strong monologue skills. ● Improvisational instincts are welcome, but the emotional arc of the speech is key. What to avoid: ● Not an Elvis impersonator. ● No loud comedy pastor. ● No fake Southern preacher unless it feels completely natural. ● No sitcom performance.
