About the Job
VINCENT — Lead. Male, mid-20s to early 30s (flexible). THE LIGHT takes place inside a dying brain as it composes an homage to its own life. Vincent is the man walking through that homage. He begins totally confused — moving through memories he has already lived, with no idea why he is back inside them. Confusion gives way to understanding: he is on the verge of death. And understanding gives way, memory by memory, to acceptance. The role will require carrying nearly every frame, sustained fear played opposite a light that won't be there on the day, crying on camera and letting tears dry on camera, a simple guided dance, and scenes with beer, dogs, and a child actor cast to resemble him.
