Mr. Smith
About the Job
Character Type: Wise Mentor / Humble Servant Character Description: Mr. Smith is the heart and soul of Cedar Performing Arts Center. A patient, compassionate teacher who has dedicated more than thirty years to helping young people discover their talents, he believes every child deserves someone who believes in them. Kind, humble, and endlessly encouraging, Mr. Smith never seeks recognition for himself, always giving the credit to his students. To him, success isn't measured by awards or fame, but by the lives he helps shape. Backstory: After founding Cedar Performing Arts Center more than three decades ago, Mr. Smith devoted his life to teaching not only music and the arts, but also character, integrity, perseverance, and kindness. While rival school SHARK Artz Ztudio focused on flashy marketing, viral content, and recruiting students through image, Mr. Smith remained committed to developing genuine artists and good people. As enrollment slowly declines and SHARK attempts to buy out Cedar, Mr. Smith quietly prepares to let go of the school he loves, believing he has failed. What he doesn't realize is that his greatest legacy isn't the building, it's the students whose lives he has forever changed. Performance Notes: Looking for an actor with warmth, sincerity, and natural gravitas. Must be able to balance gentle humor with emotional depth, portraying a humble mentor whose quiet faith in others inspires an entire generation of students.
