Eleanor passed away from breast cancer when her youngest granddaughter, Margot, was still a baby. Eleanor’s character represents the ways in which both trauma and healing can be passed down from generation to generation: In this case, the trauma of being dependent on men as well as the healing power of embodying wildness and relational vulnerability.
