18+ to play 17, Korean-American. Laney is a high-achieving, people-pleasing perfectionist who has spent most of her adolescence curating a life that satisfies everyone around her rather than herself. Beneath her composed, responsible exterior is a young woman quietly suffocating under the weight of her mother's expectations and the social identity she has carefully maintained. She is witty and self-aware, capable of sharp sarcasm and genuine warmth in equal measure, but consistently underestimates her own courage until circumstances force her to use it. Her emotional journey is one of slow, sometimes painful awakening, as she learns to distinguish between the life she has been performing and the one she actually wants. She is fiercely loyal, even to people who do not deserve it, and her capacity for honesty ultimately becomes her greatest strength. *While no nudity is required, talent must be comfortable with intimacy (passionate kissing and implied sex). An on-set intimacy coordinator will be present for all levels of intimacy. *Additionally there will be some light action work in which Lexi trips Laney and Lexi grabs Laney by her ponytail. There will be an on-set stunt coordinator present for all action work.
