Oliver
Indistinct Chatter
About the Job
Oliver is a thoughtful, observant 14-year-old who experiences the world a little differently. He lives with a mild form of Tourette's, which manifests in intermittent physical and vocal tics, but this is only one part of who he is. He is intelligent, detail-oriented, and quietly self-possessed. He finds comfort in structure — correcting papers, organizing language, bringing order to things that feel messy. He speaks sparingly, but when he does, it’s direct and sincere. Oliver is not withdrawn or defeated — he’s present, aware, and quietly resilient. He has a dry, subtle sense of humor and a strong internal life. Much of the performance lives in small moments: listening, noticing, processing. Over the course of the film, Oliver begins to assert a subtle independence — not through confrontation, but through small, meaningful choices.
