Veteran Mother
War Within A War
About the Job
A mother of two, on the outside she is put-together, but inside she is drowned with the trauma of a war-ridden past. Years of military service have infested her mind with reminders of her experience on the front lines. Simple moments throughout the day, like shopping in the store, making breakfast, and attending her kids’ school events, are no longer tolerable. The duties of a mother to hold the house together are already taxing; the love she pours into her family, and desperately needs for herself to heal a haunted past, seems to be an impossible feeling to let into her mind. She longs to be engaged with her family, her town, and her mind, but PTSD clouds any chance of a normal life.
