Brute
Second Skin
About the Job
Brute is the embodiment of soft masculinity. It is Margaret at her most true self and potential. Her experiences in Brute are warm, comfortable and euphoric. The idea of exploring new skin and flesh, existing inside another body is exciting and new and Margaret can’t get enough. It’s pure escapism in its most primal and physical form. Brute spends a lot of time alone among the farm at night. Using the darkness as a blanket to hide from Walter. This time is precious, sacred, and dangerous. A sense of impending concern of how to make this last forever. What will Walter say? What will he do? Although these thoughts don;t cloud the mind, they’re definitely present. Brute is what every trans person experiences to be gender euphoria. It's elating, soft and it's yours. Notes: Strong emotional depth is essential to this character. Must be able to delve into the complexities of gender expression and identity. The character needs to be grounded in reality while dealing with surrealist narratives. Scenes often have little dialogue so physical theatre experience or understanding is a plus.
