A celebrated former opera singer from Spain whose performances once filled concert halls around the world, Catrina, 82, now spends her final years confined to a wheelchair in the Boyle Heights bed-and-breakfast she operates from her home. Proud, stubborn, funny, and fiercely intelligent, she refuses to let illness define her. Though she has lost her singing voice, she remains determined to live with dignity and purpose until the very end.
