Casey
Good Boys Anonymous - Hollywood Fringe Festival
About the Job
BIPOC (black, indigenous, people of color), approximately 30 years old. They are androgynous and gender-queer/non-binary/trans-masc. Casey is guarded, with a thin, controlled exterior - used to mask the pain. They alternate between sharp sarcasm and sudden vulnerability. Like a tortoise, the tough exterior shell of sarcasm is used for protection, but the delicate being under the shell is actually quite vulnerable when you are allowed to see it. Casey was a child who buried abuse under obedience and perfection to become the adult who is (finally) beginning to admit the rage and fragility caused by that abuse. Casey has a beautifully written monologue in this work - meant for an actor to truly sink their teeth into. Talent must be available for all rehearsals (we will do our best to schedule rehearsals around the schedules of our entire cast), and will be paying a $100 gas stipend + $50 wardrobe bump, if talents wardrobe is utilized. Additionally, we will be filming this for purposes of archival. Each actor will receive a copy so they may use this work for the reels.
